I tried a party with dual wield Knights (with support obviously), they were shredding dragons to ribbons.
Another party that I liked was 4 archers and 1 cleric (or 3+1 I forgot), but it was done in MM Merge Mod. It is the best party I have played, they annihilate things better than laser guns do. But I don't think it's possible in the original: without Grandmaster skill (there is not any in the game), bows don't do enough damage.
