Graficsmaxxing IS pursuit of photorealism at all cost (look how realistic the water looks!! and the foliage!! and the reflections!!) and that is exactly what they're trying to do, just look at it. They're bad at it, yes, but that is definitely what they're going for (because they have no idea about how real art style elevates games to be timeless)
