He’s unimportant because he exists solely to be a mirror of Colette, as Tetheallah’s chosen, and to open doors for the player. Need to see someone in Tetheallah? Get Zelos to use his fame to do it. Need a mansion to hide in? Go to Zelos’. Then his fake betrayal and interactions with Kratos come off as rushed, like they needed a character to do it but none of the fleshed out characters made sense.
