The companions are gay and can be annoying to listen to but in combat they can contribute a lot with the right set up.
The job system is very different from Nioh's system so comparing them 1:1, it's hard to say which I like better. The SoP system feels very good though. You have lots of different abilities and skills you can add based on job/weapon and all the jobs have their own affinity bonuses (better set bonuses) which, by endgame, you can stack several of.
Instead of Ki, you have magic which you use to cast magic/use skills and you can otherwise spam combos endlessly.
