I mostly just do new playthroughs and decide what classes to mostly focus on and which one I'll main by the end. Makes it a bit easier.

Kind of. Jack is laser focused on killing Chaos, but there's a reason for it. To this end, he will basically force characters and bosses to shut up if the lore dump they're giving isn't Chaos relevant, either by telling them to cut to the chase or punching them. The lore is mostly stuffed at the beginning and end of the game, and while there's some biggish reveals, it's otherwise pretty tame. You mostly get lore from little data spheres and sort of piece it together. Also the whole Limp Bizkit thing makes sense in context, someone tells him Chaos is probably just an ideal over an actual being, and Jack simply refuses to acknowledge it and literally tunes it out by blasting the music. It's very on the nose but again, makes sense with the narrative.
