Between this and .hack// I keep going back and forth on whether grinding is an inherently bad thing or some gameplay hook that doesn't click for me. I've always seen grinding as a balancing issue, with maybe the exception for very early jrpgs because there wasn't that much content. But DC2 isn't lacking in content so being designed like it doesn't want you to keep moving forward just makes me question its design.
I agree with the missable stuff though. Could've added maybe special encounters with former bosses or just a boss rush mode or something.
