The gladious towers will end you. It's a 4-5 hour dungeon slog with no cutscenes or interesting design. Just tons of floors with empty hallways and endless random encounters.
There's no reason to actively engage with the battle system because party members gain full screen abilities that kill every enemy. The only time it doesn't work is when you need to use the barrier gun or throw rocks to break their shields.
For a PS2 game it looks and runs really well, you could almost mistake it for a early PS3 game.
