increasing prices only really works for physical products, because there is a production cost and a margin associated with every unit sold. you may sell fewer units but you make a greater margin on each one, leading to higher profit. so what is likely happening is the dumbass boomers in boardrooms are telling these studios to increase prices because they think they're selling cars instead of video games
