they built the entire game around this map and their shit trainia setup, they're gonna use nothing BUT that map. even the newer areas they added, between leciel, nameless city and now alter realm were effectively "once a year" updates. leciel kinda had structure, but nameless city and alter realm are both running in circles killing things for points and goodies respectively with gimmicks on top, and lots of special boss modifiers/variants on alter. they have absolutely goddamn nothing to to throw around here, which is why the back half of this entire year is just content updates and one super attack with extra status effects to use after a photon blast; it feels like they have a small, reduced team that basically just keeps updating it out of obligation and the whales paying out, because otherwise this thing is dead.
i fully expect them to imburse my laziness with keeping up on it via Decem III gear that would invalidate the entire point of playing the game this holiday season. yet again.
