It's been a very decent year
Not because the best games themselves, but because people are finally waking up to AAA slop. Now journalism is in full damage control with articles about steam chart numbers being toxic for discussing games when in reality it's the best fucking metric
Layoffs, studio shutdowns, live service games dying left and right (can't wait for Destiny to be gone) and AI is only going to accelerate this. Best case scenario, indies and AA games start to get more recognition and projects start to have a bit of soul again
Worst case scenario, AI kills the industry altogether and people flock to a backlog of 20+ years of great old gems. It's a win win
