Referencing the bike slide when you have a motorbike appear is cliché these days, but that's all it is, a single visual reference to a famous shot. It might be "overdone" but it's also harmless and fits into any kind of visual style or animated medium, that's why you see it in TV cartoons, video games, animated movies, etc going back decades. TMNT 2k3 did it over twenty years ago and that was a kids TV cartoon. You could even do it on a bicycle and make it a funny visual reference instead. I'm sure someone has.
Intergalactic is doing more in that it's cribbing a lot of actual surface level aesthetics from it, some of them almost 1:1 like that record player and multiple shots' framing. That's going beyond referencing and bordering on ripoff. Particularly given Akira's aesthetic is informed by the manga and movie being made in the 1980s as opposed to referencing media from the 1980s many decades later, like Intergalactic. That in of itself makes it rather lame that the game is cribbing things directly.
