Doesn't fit in WoW, at least anything past WotLK when having an anti undead specialist is handy, and even then they're extremely preachy and annoying. Kind of like the Jedi in star wars
nu-Warcraft also lacks the grit and darkness of say Diablo 2 where a holy champion makes a lot more sense. In WoW they kind of just play second fiddle to other classes like Warrior
