I wouldn't be surprised if he only stays as the disembodied voice, with the final bit being him thanking us for helping complete his experiment, but even in that scenario I'd expect some tease.
Like he mentions contacting us again in the future as toby puts the plot point in his back pocket for if he ever does a third game.
