I think it's a total end of the dark world and darkners. It's why Ralsei is so hopeless and tries to encourage the others to make "real" friends - because he recognizes his existence is temporary. Susie says they wouldn't let it happen, but Ralsei obviously wouldn't let it happen like he might have more at stake.
Incidentally, since we're building up Ralsei to value and appreciate his own life throughout the game, his character arc will culminate in his own One Piece Nico Robin "I want to live" moment.
