Whole race of aliens.
Used to be parasites that infected planets and hosts.
Then they got retcon'd to Dindu's who only become bad when their hosts are bad when Flash Thompson got the Venom symbiote and started exploring space as Agent Venom/Space Knight Venom
Then it got retcon'd again when Eddie got the Venom symbiote back adn they introduced Knull, some god who existed "before existence" who created the symbiotes. Despite the decent design, Knull is a boring character because they constantly push him in the comics as this "massive universe-ending threat" but ends up doing nothing.
And because of this nonsense, MJ is now Venom and Eddie is Carnage.
