Some people flock to "horror" media and some avoid it like the plague and others are indifferent, this dynamic applies even for arbitrary phobias.
I can understand the plight of severe arachnophobes, spiders are really popular videogame enemies to just throw in mindlessly and ruins what is otherwise perfectly playable games for these people. But my sympathy ends when they begin trying to agitate for everything to be changed just for them.
