in an perfect world, we'd get another game with a chao garden with an option for a oc character of your design to play as and the ability to invite other players to your garden or go to another's a la pokemon secret rooms of old and you can compete in chao races with other player's chao and shit
you could keep the option to play as normal sonic characters and have characters you'd normally couldn't play in the main game as an option (since it'd be a bad idea to try and make another game with a gorillion playable characters again)
make it so you can buy customization options for the player oc and chao and regular sonic characters
shit would print money, I know some people find the chao garden overrated but optional highly customizable things you can grow or build to show off to other players is a fucking huge market with stuff like animal crossing and sims and whatall and really can't be discounted. if it was fleshed out enough and advertised right it could sell to a massive swath of people that wouldn't otherwise consider a sonic game
but this is not a perfect world
