yea it depends i guess
for some expansions they create a new trait like natura, machina, condemned, academic etc and a bunch of decks are just based on those traits
and other times there are eternal archetypes that go up and down in viability through rotations like spellboost, dirt, wrath, evo (any class), rally, arifact, etc
