It feels like an event made to let private server/non-GMS enjoyers who never bothered with reboot get into GMS.
Those are the only people who are going to bother since they'll have fresh accounts and the knowledge required to do it, actual new players aren't getting that far probably and people with established accounts don't really need to care about it either.
Still not going to play GMS though, fuck Nexon.
