Factual. I had a game where I was playing like shit and underperforming compared to my teammates, and yet they were still kind and let me hoard all the ammo, gave me the medstims and medicae, just because I was plasma gunning every single gunner and disabler the very second they spawned. Hyperfocusing key specialists is the Vet's one job apart from spamming piss toughness off cooldown, and the plasma gun is the ONLY gun that lets him do this with complete consistency. I don't know how people can't figure this one out.
Bolter is the most balanced weapon in this case. It can still cleave, clean rooms, suppress well and melt armor, but it can't ignore bulwarks, it can't go through walls, it can't ignore reloads and it is unwieldy and slow, and it is very obvious that whatever it does, the Plasma Gun does better (except monster kills). Plasma gun has none of those downsides, and its actual downsides can easily be ignored, and for that it deserves a nerf, but not before Veteran can achieve a consistent level of specialist-targeting with other weapons, which in my view he is only able to with weapons with high cleave value due to the nature of hordes.
