Yeah except that species is now the actual main focus of Cathay and they've made it clear that species is actually heckin' good for Cathay. There are innumerable examples of nobles, elector princes and even emperors being complete shitheads and used to mock the entire conceit of the HRE in the Empire. Nope, not the case in Cathay. Closest thing is vague mentions of Li Dao's secret police existing, but of course that secret service is near completely effective at rooting out Chaos so it's not really being criticized. We wouldn't want to remotely imply that China's historical or current government deserves to be mocked on a systematic level like the other human systems in the game. It's funny that you brought up Bretonnia because European feudalism is mocked much harder through that faction than China's Mandate of Heaven shit. Even having the Monkey King rule China as a light reference to the times China was ruled by outsiders was too far so he got retconned into being "allowed" to rule during that period.
