I've been watching these japanese marching bands playing UmaMusume songs, I'm seeing comments that kinda implies that the JRA and Cygames/UmaMusume cannot show that they are collaborative officially, despite allowing their songs being played at a JRA racing event. I'm seeing comments like "JRA: "Uma Musume? What's that? It was something the Self-Defense Forces did on their own (playing dumb)." multiple times. Why's that? Is it just a JP meme?
