You have to consider that Rance is upgraded version of Kazuma in pretty much all regards and would have made far more impressive first impression than Kazuma did while also being overall far more reliable. I agree with the rest of your points, but I would see Aqua eventually falling for Rance with trigger being something truly dumb like Aqua gaslighting herself into loving him to justify why she enjoys her newfound mortal life so much etc.
