these are things people with a passing interest in the subject do. if you're only planning on engaging with the community for days or a few weeks, you're going to find plenty before you're done. but if you're interested in anything beyond the surface level? you start getting the discussion, the creatives wanting to create fanfic and art, etc. you can't go into an area designated as a focus for that kind of more in-depth discussion and expect it to be filled with people that only have a passing interest.
