I think shit should be more a time sink, like sure you'll eventually kill it, but you won't complete the mission.
You'd see more niche shit like smoke and EMS be considered when taking every fight on the planet isn't necessary.

I unno. Once you got used to sniping hulks in the eye back in the day it wasn't really difficult, just felt more like a chore and if you fucked up something you were just kite diving until cooldowns were back up.
I'd rather using your gear and time (cooldowns) properly was the key to success. Not using using your gear to meat a DPS quota. Aliens kinda feel like that right now, they're SUPER sloggy if you just take every fight over and over.
