yeah, the imbalance in this case is going to be some streamer joining a faction which then becomes the "tryhard faction", then some people leave the other faction because they don't want to get farmed which makes queue times go up which makes more people leave which makes queue times go up even more which incentivizes more people to leave and then one faction gets abandoned

it doesn't matter that there are no advantages or benefits to one faction over the other, the very fact that they are separate and can't play together means literally anything can become a faction imbalance, and classic wow tells us that when that happens it tends to snowball out of control very quickly. It's why the SoD and anniversary servers have forced faction balancing.
