Just gotta fight more, for Khorne you gotta use blood hosts, fully exhaust every use out of them that you can, follow your LL (except Arbaal if he's teleporting around of course), grab the techs for more better units in hosts ASAP, a free bloodthirster, soul grinder, and some bloodletters and flesh hounds is massive. For WoC build the growth and money buildings at t1, then grab the sorceror building and/or walls, and knights, since those all give you % increase to income, much more useful than grabbing the forsaken or troll buildings since you get those units anyway (except as Festus since his local provinces won't have the right modifiers for most of those troops, but for him you gotta do much more fighting anyway so you can skip the money building as him imo). Unfortunately the AI is massive pussies, but a second lord in march stance to bait out ambushes should get the AI to come fight you. You don't have to (or want to) capture minor settlements or non-dark fortresses so don't build those up at all, just raze or repeatedly sack them until you get a vassal, then either automatically gift them postbattle, or capture them and sell them to the vassal. Don't need to recruit all the best units or upgrade your units immediately if you can't afford it, and go easy on the gifted units, marauders, dogs, and trolls can solve most problems in the early game.
