This doesn't even have to be true, most psykers just suck. The class has pretty significant survivability, it's just that most of it is proactive rather than passive.

The real problem is that you (and your team) make one mistake and you die. A well played psyker with a dedicated bodyguard shouldn't go down, and if he does, the bodyguard should be able to pick him up quickly.

But while all of the above is true, a lot of psyker players (even in h40) are just bad and will piss themselves if they have to step outside of their autism bubble. The good ones are immediately obvious by their positioning.
