It's really bad, yeah. It's far too easy. The monsters are just unable to compete with all the tools we have been given and in an effort to emphasise all the "comfy" quality of life changes, they got rid of every soft/downtime/"hunter" aspect of the game. I miss having one centralized village and upgrading the resources there. If they wanted some soft city management thing where after helping out the villagers you basically colonized them and they agreed to let you move your shit there and then made the villages compact spacially/content wise, it could work, but instead you have a few bits scattered around boring , big empty villages with no interesting landmarks and your actually compact, even more boring base camps.
