That is just Sonic Team wanting to wipe the cast after 06 and Flynn and Stanley only wanting to make Archie. She was great in Dream Team.

You have to let Sonic X shape your interpretation of the character if you want a pure Sonic Team vision as this is where she got the greatest amount of screentime under Sonic Team's oversight.
