I like it because of nostalgia, but after I read the manga it becomes very clear it's a poor adaptation
Also it was DOMA that started the DM spirit world bullshit that the shows moving forward pushed to try and retcon the Egyptian origins of the game, so you were already enjoying your post DM non-Takahashi fanfic bullshit, you just didn't realize it yet.
