at some point there's an affinity change.
currently the races 2 legacies have in common boosts their affinity score 1 per shared race. in the future this only applies to overlapped G1s but is worth 3 each
affinity is not a stat saved in veteran umas, so the mechanic change effects all umas made before the change too. So G1 matching is a minor optimization you can be doing now that will make a good parent even better down the line.
I don't know how those affinity boosts are applied though, to which legacy the boosts are applied, or if it only boosts the overall total number, but I do know some of my parents have so much race overlap that i get 2 rings with just 1 parent.
A bit of a side-track, but something's been bothering me lately, idk if its the community or cygames but one of the two is annoying me. people keep saying the total affinity doesn't matter and only the individual affinity does. if that's true, it's really annoying that the only affinity measure is for overall and only functionally gives "terrible, okay, great" as its possible readouts. I know games data is often obfuscated, but this particular system just reeks of either cygames being fully retarded malicious douchebags, or players making shit up, and both cases leave a sour taste in my mouth.
