Eidolon still feels like unnecessary bloat to me, especially because I played Create: Arcane Engineering at the time, which did the Create+Magic fusion much better. But that is because it used Ars Noveau, which is decently integrated with Create via Ars Technica and Ars Creo. It also helps that said modpack limited itself to trying to fuse two separate mods, instead of like five ones as Liminal Industries attempts to do.
The presence of Immersive Engineering is confusing too because there simply isn't any reason to use it, for most things they could've just added Create: The Factory Must Grow or Create: New Age. Everything after steel felt unnecessary in the first place.
