I think I politely disagree on the looks of the games, I think most of the issue comes from the inconsistency. There's locales I find genuinely stunning in all the Switch games (off the top of my head, I love the Slumbering Weald in SwSh, and adore all of Area Zero in SV). You can get some really nice sights in the games, just wish they'd give them more time so everything reaches that upper echelon. I'll disagree on GameCube, although, I was always slightly mixed on the art direction of those personally. I do really like that every Switch Pokemon has a distinct visual style, you can see a good amount of experimentation even within the same system, with Lets Go being more watercolors, SwSh looking more like CG anime, BDSP being more diorama-adjacent, Legends Arceus aiming for a traditional Japanese painting look, and SV being the more "realistically detailed" of them all. I think the games as they are ARE genuinely pretty great, just... wish the tech got more spitshine y'know? Although I guess that's always been the case with Pokemon, I mean compare the DS games with the FF3 and 4 remakes on the same system, same with GBA and Minish Cap. I think there's enough good in them to still make them more than worthwhile, but I can sadly see why some others don't see it that way.
