It depends somewhat on the stability of the connection, and your actual latency. I find darktide to still be playable-ish up to around 200 latency, though I forget which regions have ~200 to oceania.
Played nightly havocs from EU -> USE and later USW when E went to bed, and it was... playable. Melee was choppy and unresponsive, and I fucked up one clutch to a trapper net that magnetized to me post-dodge, but more ranged-focused playstyles should be just fine. My go-to for high latency would be psyker, since bubble and fart staff let you bypass most of the downsides of having high latency. High cleave staggerrape melee probably also works, playing arbitrator felt really bad and choppy and unresponsive, but it wasn't any harder, just took some getting used to.
You could consider giving it another try, unless you have middle-of-nowhere unreliable satellite internet that barely lets you game in the first place lol.
