My theory is that all of the human world stuff is a preparation for a HM like game where you experience everything that happened in the human world in the 8 years + the whole process of saving it by evacuating people and digimon etc...
But aside from that every time Simmons or Asuna interrupted me to tell me what's going on in the human side i just went ...ok ig... because other than me as the player not caring cause there's no one from the human side I felt attached to , the mc himself has no one either. He has no family, no friends, no co workers, no memories or locations to cherish.
Even his purpose in life has no ties to humanity rather he exists for ageiomon's sake.
