Here are some concrete buffs I’d propose:
Reduce or remove the movement speed penalty
For example: while channeling Cyclone, instead of “30% less movement speed”, change to “10% less” or “no penalty”.
Reason: The movement penalty hurts the fluid “spin through packs” feel. If you’re going to move while channeling, you want to feel fast, not hindered.
This would preserve balance (you’re still committing to channel) but increase the fun.
Increase base Channel Radius / hit-range or bonus from melee strike range
Either boost the base radius (so you don’t feel you need extreme investment to get viable clear) or increase the benefit of melee-strike-range mods/supports.
Reason: Some players feel Cyclone’s circle is small compared to other clear skills, making pack-clear slower. The scaling should reward investment but not punish default builds.
Example: “Gain +1 radius per channel stage” or “+12% increased Area of Effect per 1 additional Melee Strike Range” instead of current lower value.
Allow more support gem flexibility
E.g., allow Cyclone to link with a “while channeling” support or give a new support gem specifically optimized for channelled melee skills.
Reason: This would open more build variety and enhance single-target or utility options without just increasing raw numbers.
Improve single-target/bossing performance
Perhaps a higher damage multiplier or better scaling for “while channeling” (e.g., each second you channel you gain a stacking buff to damage, up to a cap).
Reason: Cyclone often shines for clearing but sometimes lags vs burst skills for big bosses. A “stacking spin” buff would reward staying in channel and make boss fights feel more dynamic.
