I never said that they weren't. What I said was that there's a massive difference between a regular human that's never shot a gun in their life, and a regular human that's been trained and hardened into being able to do what Helldivers are shown to be able to do. You don't have to be a genetically engineered freak of nature to be more capable than the average person.
I also wouldn't call Super Earth a modern army considering the lasers, plasma, FTL, stims, and other things, but I get what you mean.
