Discard is a fun mechanic concept, but it's not used at all in vanilla.
Unless you're Thumb or running Flip the Table for some reason, Discard only amounts to economy that bloats your deck. You either restore light or draw pages, but you can do that with less deck bloat by just using generic pages like multislash and wedging thorn. It doesn't help that, unless you're Thumb, you either discard one page or your whole hand.
Meanwhile, Thumb creates their own discard material by simply playing the game, gets 3 different effects on discard that affect all ranged pages used for the scene, two different discard pages that discard a different amount without being shit like Sakura and can basically just run decks that have nothing but their own pages.
Thumb and Cane are the only well-designed factions in the entire game. W Corp is almost there, but only Rose is remotely usable and none of their passives interact with Charge for some fucking reason. A massive shame because Rip Space is so cool and genuinely good.
