From 2004 - 2011, for 7 fucking years, dota1 with no rewards or items gained from playing on Warcraft 3, have only gained & increased the playerbase instead of dying into abyss.
Having no skinner box is not the problem.
The game is the problem.
And this is actually the best time to come to the conclusion that the game is still bad because players don't even want to play it if there's no other distractions, such as cosmetics rewards.
So, now you can either act like an adult, admit that the game is still bad and require fixes & polishing, and we can have a civilized discussion on what the game is lacking, and why players are leaving.
Or you can just continue denying facts because your feelings are hurt.
