This is exactly the problem, even as CODified as BF has become there's still nothing that fills the niche. Everything else goes way too far in one direction or the other: either literally COD, or milsim gigautism shit like ArmA and Squad, which don't get me wrong I enjoy from time to time but the biggest problem with those is that it's much harder to enjoy those games with randos than it is with a consistent group. And maintaining a consistent group is fucking hard, I know, I've tried.
