Picking Sona is a guarantee that you will lose lane into competent players since they can just dive or gank you over and over and over on a champion with no real CC, no mobility, and at one point less health and armor than a cannon minion, yet if you somehow survive to later in the game she becomes the best teamfight heal and shield bot in the game with an AoE stun ult and a 0 second CD W passive that allows you to cuck an enemy team member with a permanently up -30 to -50% damage done debuff.
