Yes, I've done it for 5 years. The questlets and wirelesskeks tend to have more cables than I do because of all the fucking batteries they have to strap to themselves. Having one cable go off the back of the headset is an extremely small price to pay for the sheer reliability of it.
No cable issues in 5 years and several thousand hours of (not careless) use.
