The idea of the deep dive is fine but the fact that they decided to both lock you to 2 seeded ones per week AND gate progression to it is lame as fuck. There's also the fact that the difficulty is pegged to baby-mode so redditors can make progress is also gay, but at least you can run a mod to crank the difficulty up. Hell they could've just given us a mission warning that gives you 2 primary objectives so people could effectively play deep dive stages but with the modularity of H5+ so you can adjust it as high or as low as you want, instead we got double secondaries which hardly means anything since they get done without even thinking about it; scout's just gonna grab stuff that glows in the dark anyway.
I think Rogue Core is them realizing that the structure of a deep dive had potential that they never earnestly tapped into. Mix that with the in-mission upgrades from the DRG board game, sprinkle in the scaling swarm from point extraction and visualize it in a way similar to risk of rain, and then bleach the classes until they more resemble something between gunfire reborn and roboquest instead of the more-rigid DRG concept of classes.
