Yes, staying off-site and then spotting with gadgets/windows is always the superior planting strategy and both fire bolts and Gridlock trax can do a strong job of locking down the plant site.
Firebolts might be better for deploying directly on to plant site but Gridlock trax are better for locking off possible entryways and holding space, and they're definitely no slouch when placed on the plant site either.
I think we're just talking about different goals, hence the disagreement. I'm discussing the use of spacial control tools as a way to block off passageways during/after the plant, not for placing directly on to the plant itself
