You could also ask Edin leadership if they could start a farming colony somewhere further south. Two threads ago there was a nice, flat, rainy, warmer spot on an andesite island. I think the souf tp takes you to the northern tip of souf. So maybe take the TP, start a basecamp souf, then boat northeast so you are not too far for a tl network, boat route, or underground elk tunnel?
