Biomes don't really exist in the game in the same way they do in MC. In VS you have "climates" which are determined by precipitation, temperature and flora density, with the world being roughly divided into cold climates, warm climates, the tropics and arctic.
So if you have a desert, dig up all the sand and replace it with dirt, you now have savanna.
