I think MMOs are kind of dead as a genre. Back in the day when there weren't many places to both meet people and do fun stuff in on the computer, MMOs dominated. Now that we have TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, etc... There is less of a need to socialize in MMOs. Even novelty games like Webfishing die shortly after launch
