Whereas you can pay other players to get the items for you in Mabinogi, or simply not get it and it doesn't prevent you from experiencing any gameplay-related content. You don't have to gacha for a new arcana, for example. (You could argue that cosmetics are also a content but that's another can of worms.)
I agree not having pity is gay as hell but please don't be an apologist for gacha games just because you can f2p, as in most gacha games you cannot even complete your pokedex without paying.
