it got hit with the same bullshit DD1 was cause capcom never believed in either, both games have been used as filler and/or tech demos as far capcom was concerned
anyway i think the biggest issue for me is just that and one point of the plot you're basically funnelled into ending the game right there and then, while the other half of the game awaits you in other places. As said point of the plot has you leaving the first main city and region to go the the second main city and region, after that the game has a lot more content if you go back to the first city and region (more questlines open up and stuff) but never tells you, while the plot has you doing some otherwise small busywork until you're suddenly in the end game. As the other anons said, it was simply rushed so some cracks show up like that, but it is still an enjoyable game i happily spent two months on. And it's wildly better on pc as mods cracked the game's systems open and you can basically make your own vocations and shit now, in fact you should look into some mods if you want to play it as another minor issue is that there's very little equipment to find in the wild (and it's static so it's always there no matter what), everything else you need to buy from shops and there's a few mods that fix that
